NFTY-MAR Junior Youth Kallah (MAJYK)

The Mid Atlantic Junior Youth Kallah, or MAJYK, is a very special event just for 6-8th graders, taking place at Temple Beth Or, in Raleigh, North Carolina, January 29-31.

The weekend will be filled with various games, programs, and activities designed and led by the MAJYKians, the Regional Board, and other teen leaders from the North Carolina area!

Join us for a weekend of living, learning, and loving Judaism, not to mention the chance to make the friendships of a lifetime!

For all Teen Volunteers from Temple Beth Or (RALFTY-grades 9-12), the fee for this event is $50. Please contact Ellie Tepper, prior to registering, to ensure that the discount is applied to your registration. Please note that it will appear that you are paying full price, but once your registration is submitted, the Registrar will correct the amount being charged, and your second confirmation e-mail will reflect that updated amount.

Scholarship Application


This event is open to any Jewish teen in grades 6 to 8 who is interested in a Reform Jewish experience.

This event is just open to 6-8th graders!

  • This year, we will be having a special track just for our 8th graders to begin the countdown to being members of our high school program! It will focus around learning the lingo and traditions of NFTY-MAR!


  • Meals are included in the cost of the event.
  • Teens are expected to participate in the entire event. Fees are set at a full package rate and unfortunately we cannot prorate registration.

Every participant must travel to/from the event with an adult over the age of 21 (Advisor, parent/guardian), including to and from the bus stop. No participants may drive themselves to, from, or during the event.

The bus schedule will be sent out in the final email sent in the week prior to the event.

Participants and their families will receive a confirmation email prior to the event with additional information. Be sure to bring a sleeping bag, pillow and towel to use at your host's home! Also remember that Friday evening through Saturday afternoon we'll be at a local congregation, so be sure to bring appropriate attire for Shabbat services. 

If you need to cancel, the registration fees you paid will be refunded as follows:

  • Through January 7, 2016 – 90% of the registration fees paid
  • Through January 14, 2016 – 75% of the registration fees paid
  • Through January 21, 2016 – 50% of the registration fees paid

After January 21, 2016 we will not be able to issue any refunds for cancellation. If you have a documented medical emergency and must cancel after January 21, 2016 you will be refunded 75% of the registration fees you paid.

Please allow up to six weeks after the conclusion of the event for your refund to be processed. All cancellation requests must be in writing. We will accept cancellations by email to We’re sorry, but we cannot accept cancellations over the phone.
